My sister Claudia was hospitalized and rushed to the Instituto do curaçao in Maputo on the 10^th November 2023 after experiencing dreadful abdominal pain and respiratory difficulty. We were hopeful that it is an acute event but as a family we were not aware of the shock that was to come. 1 day turned into 1 week, 1 week into a month and then 2 months into her admission with several tests being run and Claudia deteriorating our worst fears materialized. Claudia was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma, an aggressive cancer with a high mortality rate if not treated early.
