Câline’s Hyrax Heroes

Meet Câline, one of DAKTARI’s very special rock hyraxes.

Câline has made people around the world fall in love with hyraxes. At DAKTARI Bush School, she has another very important role: helping us inspire local children to understand, respect and protect wildlife.

Here in South Africa, hyraxes are sometimes hunted for food and are not always seen as animals worth protecting. Through Câline, children discover that even the smaller, less famous animals are fascinating and have an important place in nature.

Now Câline needs her fans to help her.

We are asking you to become one of Câline’s Hyrax Heroes by giving just US$5 a month, for as long as you can.

Your monthly support helps DAKTARI continue welcoming local children to our environmental education programme and inspiring them to love and protect the wildlife around them.
