The effects of apartheid are still felt today — in access, in opportunity, and in confidence. In many rural communities, children grow up rich in culture, but with limited access to open-minded art education and few spaces dedicated to creative play and expression.
Why These Clubs Matter
Hamburg is home to the world-renowned Keiskamma Art Project, known for monumental textile artworks celebrating Xhosa heritage. For over twenty years, it has employed 50–100 women artists. As these elders age, a vital question emerges: Who creates next?
