About This Campaign

Hello everyone. I live with my partner in a rural Transkei village. It is truly beautiful here, but behind the scenery are families who face daily struggles — hunger, limited income, and very little access to basic care for themselves or their animals.
Tourism has been low for over a year, and many households who once managed to get by are now struggling more than ever. When families cannot meet their own needs, animals suffer too.
What moved me to start this project was a dog we took in yesterday.
Recently, a neighbour asked us if we had “medicine to put a dog down.” The reason: he had been eating chicken eggs. He was hungry, and the family relied on those eggs for food.
We stepped in immediately. We took the dog home, gave him a warm, safe room, food, water, and treated his severe tick and flea infestation. He was terrified at first, but within hours we saw small signs of trust — a tail wag, gentle nuzzles, and eventually excited cuddles. Within 24 hours, he became a different dog.
This experience made something very clear:
the suffering...
