**Help Light the Way for Cody Leigh’s Battle with Cancer**

In the middle of September 2024, our world was turned upside down. What began as a routine discovery—a small lump in 3-year-old Cody Leigh's tummy—quickly became a whirlwind of fear, uncertainty, and pain. At first, we went to the local clinic, hoping it was nothing serious. The nurse was just as unsure as we were, so she immediately referred us to Karl Bremmer Hospital. A series of tests followed, but they couldn't give us any answers just yet.

By October 2nd, we discovered another lump. Fearing the worst, we rushed Cody back to the clinic where we were given an urgent referral to Karl Bremmer. But even after more tests and scans, no one could say for sure what was wrong. We were told we needed to go to Tygerberg Hospital for further testing. And that's when the unimaginable happened.

On October 7th, 2024, Cody was officially diagnosed with **Burkitt’s Lymphoma**, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Our hearts shattered.
