Community Outreach

In our world today there are thousands and thousands of companion animals in need of rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming.  These animals are far too often on the receiving end of cruelty and neglect, abandonment and ignorance.  What makes matters worse, is that most people are blissfully unaware of how bad the situation is.  In South Africa more than a million dogs and cats are euthanised every year, simply because there is no one to adopt them.  

Our animal welfare sector is characterised by outdated and weak legislation, insufficient and antiquated shelter facilities, a general lack of government interest and an unregulated puppy mill and breeder industry, little to no subsidisation of sterilisation in poor areas and townships and the absence of animal care education in our schools.  As a result, shelters and rescue organisations are battling enormous volumes, costs and odds.  But, we still climb into the trenches to try and do the possible.  Against this backdrop, the people you will find in this sector are bound together by a comm...
