Zihan Nel had a seizure in the early hours of Sunday morning.
An ambulance was called to take him to hospital.
He was not responsive and the seizures continued and he was thus transferred to Nelspruit MediClinic’s Intensive Care unit where several test were done to determine the cause.
The Doctors are still not sure what has caused his condition and will need to do even more tests, but they were able to clear issues with his heart and lungs and established that there was no pressure on the brain.
Zihan remains in intensive care, possibly for a few more days, where doctors are treating him for possible cerebral malaria, infections and epilepsy.
His treatment is ongoing, consequently his liver has been damaged and is currently receiving treatment at Unitas Hospital in Pretoria.
