Cycle Tour for BGCSA

Hello, my name is Thomas Taylor. I’m a 71-year-old American who fell in love with and married a beautiful South African nurse named Thokozile in 2007. Thoko and I resided in California, USA.

Long story short. Thoko’s life was cut short in 2021; and in search of peace of mind, I took up Cycle touring and rode my bicycle across the USA from Los Angeles to Boston, bringing attention to the disease that took her life. I am about to begin a new adventure, bringing awareness and raising funds for the great organization - The Boys and Girls Clubs of South Africa.

I’ve long been aware of The Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the important work of mentoring children often coming from disadvantaged situations; offering them hope and a vision for a better future. However, I only recently found out that there was a South African branch of this great organization.  

On January 10, I hope to begin a new cycling tour, taking me from Nairobi, Kenya through Tanzania and Zambia; and eventually into Johannesburg, South Africa. Cycle touring is not an exact endeavor, as day-t...
