Our Dad’s Fight for His Life ❤️
On Saturday, while on holiday in Hermanus, our dad was suddenly admitted to hospital after becoming extremely unwell. He was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, and sadly, within just 24 hours, his condition progressed to severe pancreatitis.
The pancreatitis caused his kidneys to fail, and he had to be placed on dialysis to help his body do what his kidneys could no longer do. As his kidneys began to fail, his other organs came under an enormous amount of strain as they tried to keep his body functioning.
Unfortunately, his other organs could not cope with the pressure, and his condition became critical. The doctors made the difficult decision to place him into a medically induced coma so that his body could rest while they work to stabilise him and give his organs the best possible chance to recover.
This has all happened so suddenly, and our family is facing an incredibly difficult and frightening time. He is currently fighting for his life...
