ANTHONY RAYNARD - From Motocross to Dakar 2026

After 25 years of motocross, I took a leap into rally racing. With no training, I borrowed a bike for the 2024 Safari Rally, and won the bike category. That victory sparked a bigger dream: Dakar.

I worked hard to qualify at the 2025 World Championship Safari Rally at Sun City, and after an intense entry process, I got the call: I’ve been accepted into Dakar 2026.

Now comes the toughest part, this race requires enormous funding, and I cannot do it alone. I’m asking for your donations and support to help me get to the start line.

For me, Dakar is more than racing. My number, 23, is my late mom’s birthday, a constant reminder of her strength and love. Carrying it into Dakar is my way of honoring her and representing South Africa on the world stage.
