Damian, a loving 6-year-old born on February 28, 2018, has faced significant challenges since birth. Delivered at 42 weeks, his head size raised concerns, and he faced frequent hospital visits, eventually being diagnosed with asthma. At age 2, after a severe toe infection, an MRI revealed that Damian’s brain was almost entirely covered with fluid, with undeveloped and malformed parts. On March 26, 2020, Damian underwent brain surgery to insert a VP shunt, managing fluid in his brain. He was diagnosed with Congenital Hydrocephalus and Colpocephaly.

Congenital Hydrocephalus causes fluid buildup in the brain, leading to pressure that can cause brain damage. Colpocephaly is a rare condition where parts of the brain are abnormally large, causing developmental delays.

Recently, in June 2024, Damian was hospitalized again. His doctors discovered that his brain doesn’t produce enough oxytocin, leading to childhood depression. Multiple evaluations determined that Damian’s developmental age is that of a 4-year-old, t...
