Our city is surrounded by a stunning coastline, yet we lack comprehensive youth ocean exploration programs. These programs, filled with educational activities and guided excursions, offer a golden opportunity to bridge this gap and create a stronger bond with our valuable marine environment as well as encourage local youth to seek a career trajectory in this field.

At the heart of our mission is addressing critical ocean-related issues, particularly climate change and plastic pollution, both severe threats to marine ecosystems and biodiversity. Through community engagement and educational initiatives, we aim to raise awareness about these urgent concerns and promote sustainable actions.

A notable challenge is the limited exposure to ocean-based literature and direct ocean experiences, especially in disadvantaged communities within the Cape Metropole.
