Dehan Potgieter

Our little champion Dehan Potgieter was born on the 15th of September 2023 at 26 weeks Gestation due to his mother who was diagnosed with heart failure, and had her operation in October and November 2023 cardiac ablation and a mitral valve replacement. 

Dehan's full diagnosis on discharge:

 ~Thrombotic cast, part of cast sticks out in LA - risk for paradoxical embolus and CVA 

~ Resolving small pericardial effusion - left pleural effusion post insertion CVP

~ ROP - stage 1 zone 3 on right and stage 2 zone 2 on left 

~ mild turbulence in distal MPA 

~ IA septum - small ASD with L-R flow 

~ Mild supravalvar PS 

He is now at home for the past 5 months but will be re-admitted to Netcare Sunninghill on the 16th - 19th of July 2024 for the following:

Cardiology checkups,pulmonary checkups, Pediatric checkup, 18-24 hour EEG, MRI, MRV, MRA SCANSt o see if there is any changes with his condition. 

The medical aid does not cover his Consultations, and the stays in Sandton, transportation ect...
