A cascade of doctor visits led her from the local clinic to Ceres Hospital and eventually to the Oncology ward at Tygerberg Hospital. High fever, nose bleeds, and unexplained constipation revealed a heartbreaking diagnosis: Leukemia.
Charlotte, a resilient soul at just the tender age, now embarks on a 6-month treatment journey. Each week, she battles the relentless enemy within the hospital walls, returning home only for fleeting weekends. Her once-vibrant hair now succumbs to the harsh toll of treatment, and weariness shadows her every step.
