For the past 11 months, we have frustratingly been embroiled in what we feel is a malicious overreach of powers by our provincial nature conservation authorities, CapeNature, that has already robbed two rescued lion cubs of a life with us.

CapeNature claims that our big cat rescues are not “adequately contained”, despite our unblemished 28 years of operation proving exactly how effective our enclosures are at keeping our rescues and the public safe.

After 28 years of granting us licenses, CapeNature’s sudden and senseless change of mind about our fencing without any valid cause is truly baffling.

Seemingly overnight, the fences that CapeNature have approved for the past 28 years irrationally became unacceptable to their officials, and they demanded we rebuild our entire facility within 1 year for no sane reason! Our decades of experience and unblemished track record prove how wrong CapeNature is.
