Baba Dylan was admitted to the hospital on 13th March 2023 with a fever, where he was diagnosed with an Adenovirus infection and later with an RSV virus. Initially expected to go home shortly, an unexpected turn of events occurred the morning he was to be discharged. Dylan's face turned blue in his mother's arms, he stopped breathing, and his heart ceased beating. After three resuscitation attempts, he was without oxygen for over 30 minutes.

Following this harrowing experience, doctors determined that the 7-month-old had suffered severe brain damage, resulting in cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and other medical complications yet to be confirmed.

Due to weak throat muscles and the absence of cough and swallow reflexes, Baba Dylan required a tracheostomy for breathing assistance, along with a feeding tube that was later replaced with a gastrostomy tube in August.
