Hi, My name is Courtney Matthei, and I am from Cape Town, South Africa.

In August 2022, our son Elijah was diagnosed with Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM), a rare polio-like condition that led to a sudden paralysis from his waist down, resulting in him being unable to use his legs at all. Our loving, energetic boy who impacted so many lives with his love, had his entire life changed in a matter of days.
Throughout his ordeal, Elijah has kept his cheerful spirit and loving attitude.

Why We Need Your Help

Living in South Africa, we often find that resources for rehabilitation, especially for children, are scarce. The Trexo is designed to assist children with disabilities in their rehabilitation, offering the opportunity to regain mobility and independence. Not only can this technology aid Elijah’s rehabilitation, but it has the potential to significantly speed up his recovery journey.

We are determined to give Elijah the best chance at a brighter future, and we need your help to make this possible. Your donations will go directly toward...
