My Mother, 47 years of age has an aneurysm that ruptured in her brain. This happened on Sunday, the 4th of August, 2024. Not knowing the extent of the problem, it took almost a whole day before we knew that was what happened. She was admitted into hospital on Monday, the 5th of August 2024. After doing a CT Scan, they rushed her to the ICU because they had seen she had blood on the brain. She was transferred to a hospital in Johannesburg that night, and they did the surgery the next day, Tuesday the 6th of August 2024, by putting in coiling in the aneurysm to prevent it from leaking again. She currently has Medical Insurance because these days, Medical Aids aren't as affordable. Thus far, her costs have been covered. As we only have medical insurance, there is a limit to what they cover. We were informed by the Professor that after the Surgery, she has to stay in ICU for at least 10 days to be monitored. After 10 days, she still has to stay in the hospital because she is still at risk for at least 21 days after the surgery. Her funds from the medical insurance are depleted, and to...
