Emergency Medical Fund for Mandy

On 22 December 2025, Mandy Mortelmans and JJ Potgieter were involved in a devastating accident. A truck attempted to overtake another truck and did not see their bakkie. In a split second, tragedy struck, and the truck overturned onto their vehicle. There was no time to react.

By God’s grace, both Mandy and JJ survived the accident. Mandy, however, sustained serious injuries and was hospitalised for a week. She was discharged with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 8 January 2026. After attending this check-up, she received heartbreaking news — she now needs to undergo surgery.

Surgery has always been Mandy’s biggest fear, making this news even more overwhelming. Despite this, she is facing the situation with remarkable courage and faith.

The accident also left them without their only means of transport. The bakkie involved in the accident was JJ’s only vehicle and the sole transport they had. JJ relied on this bakkie for his work, and without it, they currently have no source of income, placing even greater strain on them dur...
