Update and Urgent Appeal: Help the Stilfontein Community

We remain haunted by the Stilfontein Massacre, both grieving for the 90 lives lost; and grateful to all who helped save 279 lives in the community-led rescue and relief operation for the artisanal mine workers trapped by police in the mine shafts of Stilfontein. The community of Khuma is shattered and the local economy in tatters with the mass arrest, deportation, and effective execution of many breadwinners through Operation Vala Umgodi.

With your help, in the spirit of mutual aid, the Stilfontein Solidarity Committee was able to raise R321,000. Every contribution, no matter the size, made a difference.
