Empangeni High School Choir

The Empangeni High School Choir has achieved something extraordinary: in 2026, they were crowned the SASCE Champ of Champs Winners (again), solidifying their reputation as one of South Africa’s finest youth choirs with an extraordinary 95.67%. Now, they have been officially invited to represent our country at the World Choir Games in Austria, 2027—the largest international choral competition, often called the “Olympics of Choirs.”

This invitation is a historic milestone for our school, our province, and our nation. It is a chance for our learners to showcase South Africa’s rich musical heritage on a global stage, to exchange cultures, and to inspire through song.

But to make this dream a reality, we need your help. The total cost of travel, accommodation, visas, and participation fees is R2 million. We are asking our community, alumni, and supporters to help us raise R1 million through BackaBuddy—a crucial step toward ensuring that every voice in our choir can be heard in Austria.
