We’re a group of friends who have been lucky enough to know and love our dear friend Cleone for over 20 years. She’s the kind of person who lights up a room with her wisdom, wit, dark humour, and curiosity — but on a recent weekend away, we noticed something different. Cleone, usually the strong and independent soul who never asks for help, seemed a little more withdrawn, a little sad.

It broke our hearts (and our backs (inside joke)) because anyone who knows her knows she deserves a life filled with independence, mobility, joy, and freedom. So here we are, doing what friends do best: asking for help on her behalf.
