Musa plays for my wheelchair rugby team; Mandeville, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
I am his coach.
Musa’s situation has compelled me to reach out for your help.
Behind Musa’s perpetual smile are, for most of us, some unimaginable challenges:
- Musa cannot walk due to polio.
- Musa lost his parents as a young child.
- Musa has never been to school.
- Musa cannot read or write.
- Musa cannot find work.
Despite all of this, Musa still pushes the 10km round trip on busy traffic roads to get to wheelchair rugby practice every week. He rarely misses a practice.
The problem is: Musa’s day-to-day wheelchair is broken.
The frame is cracked. No welding can salvage it. At some stage it will collapse with him in it, heaven forbid on a busy road and far from help.
Please help us fund a decent wheelchair for Musa, for his wellbeing and his safety.
We are aiming for an amount of R30,000 which will buy him the best chair he has ever had, and one that will last for many years to...
