"EMPTY CUPS" GRADUATION FILM FUNDRISING

1326 Collective is a student-led production company driven by the belief that film is more than entertainment. It is a powerful tool for education, advocacy, and social change. As emerging South African filmmakers, we are committed to creating authentic, thought-provoking stories that amplify underrepresented voices and spark meaningful conversations within our communities. Through cinematic storytelling, we aim to challenge harmful social norms, inspire empathy, and encourage audiences to engage with issues that are often ignored or hidden.

Our current production focuses on raising awareness about emotional neglect, toxic relationships, mental health, self-worth, and the long-lasting effects of unhealthy attachment. In particular, “Empty Cups” explores how childhood emotional neglect can shape adult relationships, highlighting the difficulty many people face in leaving emotionally abusive situations because familiar pain often feels safer than the uncertainty of change.
