Walk with Tumi, the Travelling Teddy, as Nickey Seger walks the Camino de Santiago to raise funds for the Avril Elizabeth Home's hydrotherapy facilities. Every step brings our residents closer to greater comfort, dignity, independence and hope.
Hi. My name is Tumi. I'm the Travelling Teddy and the chosen teddy ambassador for the Avril Elizabeth Home. The Home provides specialised care, skilled nursing and physiotherapy to its 154 children and adult residents living with severe intellectual and physical disabilities.
My name comes from Tumelo, meaning faith. So it's only right that my first adventure is a walk of faith: the Camino de Santiago, across Spain.
I can't walk it on my own. That's why Nickey is taking me with her.
