Help Ewan Hear Again – Ear Surgery on 16 September 2026

Our son Ewan is 14 years old and has struggled with serious ear problems since he was very young.

Over the years, Ewan has had four sets of grommets, had his adenoids removed and has experienced ongoing problems with his eardrums repeatedly rupturing and retracting. He has also used hearing aids, but because of the condition of his eardrum, they have not been able to work properly.

Unfortunately, we have now received more concerning news. Ewan has developed a cholesteatoma in his ear, together with a hole in his eardrum. The condition has also affected the structures inside his ear, and the doctor has explained that the damaged bone in his ear will need to be repaired during the operation.

Ewan is scheduled to have his surgery on 16 September 2026.

The doctor is hopeful that, after the operation and once his ear has healed, Ewan’s hearing should improve. For our family, this gives us hope after years of struggling with his hearing and ongoing ear problems.
