Experimental Film Project

We’re excited to share our school project, *The Unstirred Pot* - an Afro-Surrealist experimental film that reclaims the narrative of Black African women.

As African film students, we’ve always felt that our stories have been told _for_ us rather than *by* us - particularly that of the Black African woman. And this film speaks to that. Told through the lens of Africana Womanism, The Unstirred Pot, a labor of love, travels the journey with its protagonist, Bomikazi as she journeys through an enchanted forest, an abandoned house and a sterile corporate environment where black women are systemically silenced.  

The story critiques and challenges harmful stereotypes by transforming abstract injustices into powerful, tangible cinematic moments.

Our crew is seeking support and sponsorship to bring this vision to life. With the help of a dedicated, enthusiastic and talented team, we aim to create a film that resonates on a personal level and sparks broader conversations about social justice and representation.
