Our Chaplain Needs Us: Stand with Father Monwabisi
Father Monwabisi has spent years standing for this community. Now he needs us to stand for him.
He is currently facing a formal dispute with the school that will determine his future in the very community he has served with unwavering commitment. This follows communication circulated by the Bishops Executive Committee on Sunday, 19 April, which has brought the matter to the attention of the wider community.
For many of us, Father Monwabisi has been far more than a chaplain. Whether sitting with families through loss, advocating quietly for those without a voice, or showing up—again and again—when it mattered most, he has been a constant source of strength, compassion, and integrity.
As expressed in a Letter of Support from a group of young Old Diocesans (ODs), also dated Sunday, 19 April:
