The Story: From Soweto to the Courtroom

My name is Thando Precious Mashoba, and I am a 20-year-old Third-Year Bachelor of Laws (LLB) student at the University of the Free State. My journey started in the vibrant streets of Soweto, where I was raised by my pillar of strength, my grandmother, Thembeni Grace Mashoba. She taught me the value of integrity, hard work, and the importance of standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

I am passionate about becoming a voice for the voiceless. My dream is to specialize in the protection of women and children’s rights, as well as advocating for the welfare of animals. I believe that a society is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable members.

The Challenge:

As a self-funded student, I have worked tirelessly to keep my head above water. However, as I enter this critical third year of my degree, the financial burden has become a significant hurdle.
