Why we’re raising funds

Friends of the Tamboerskloof Area (FOTA) exists to protect the distinctive, village-like character of our precinct—nestled between Varsity Street, St Michael’s Road, Leeukop Street, Kloof Road and De Hoop Avenue. The Aloe by FWJK, a proposed high-density development on erven 1036 & 875, puts at risk the low-rise charm, leafy streets and community spirit that make Tamboerskloof so special. We’re mounting a firm, lawful challenge to safeguard every resident’s rights and quality of life.

In Round 1, Erleigh and Associates Inc. led our objections, funded entirely by immediate neighbours (approximately R 180 000). We secured specialist heritage, planning and traffic advice and engaged seasoned lawyers to steer the process.

Now, Round 2 is under way. To commission updated expert reports, draft and submit detailed objections and to present our case at LUM and MPT next year, we must raise R 225 000. So far a small group of households have generously donated R125 000. We call on the wider Tamboerskloof communit...
