Freedom swim for Stellies Care

I am turning 40 this year and decided to mature for a good cause. As a teacher I know, times are tough and quite a few learners at our school and their families struggle to get by. 
So, I decided to swim for Stellies Care, an initiative at our school that supports our learners and families in need with food and other essentials.

I will be swimming from Robben Island to Big Bay on 28 March 2025. A whopping, staggering, freezing 8km.

I started training a few years ago, but would not call myself an athlete. I realized sometimes it is good for us to do hard things. This will be my greatest challenge yet and I would like to inspire my students. I like to believe that if I can swim from Robben Island to Big Bay, they will believe that they too can overcome the many challenges life throws at them and achieve great things.
