Hi my name is Alwyn Uys, a wheelchair athlete and devote Christian that has a passion for life, inspiring people and spreading the Good News of the Gospel.
In 2014 I was in a car accident that left me paralysed and wheelchair bound, but I refused to conform to the norm of being incapable of living a life I used to love! And that involves sport, outdoors and all things adventure. I made it my life mission to always find a way to do the things I love.
It's always been a tremendous challenge to go to the beach, do mountain trials, go fishing or hunting in a wheelchair until I came across this amazing off-road wheelchair. I hopped in one for the first time in the USA and instantly fell in love. It completely changed my life! I could now go wherever, whenever I wanted and not be hindered by my disability to move around in tough terrain.
This back-a-buddy campaign is to source the needed funds to purchase such a mobility device of my own and keep on living my life to the fullest.
