From Active and Strong to Paralyzed

After receiving his first Pfizer Covid‑19 vaccine, Desmond Milligan’s life changed forever.

Within days he suffered seizures, unbearable pain, and rapidly worsening weakness. By August 2021, 
doctors diagnosed him with Transverse Myelitis a severe inflammation of the spinal cord that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Since October 2025, his right arm has been completely paralyzed too, and his only functioning arm is now growing weaker. His legs and arm are spastic, and without medical aid he cannot access the neurologist or physiotherapy he urgently needs.

Desmond was once full of energy, a devoted father, a man who worked hard and lived for his family. Today he faces every day from a wheelchair, dependent on 24‑hour care. His wife, Stephany, had to give up her job to care for him and now works 16‑hour shifts just to keep their two boys fed and their home standing.
