My name is Njabulo Mkize, founder of Sak’izwe Now, a platform that promotes collective healing and social justice. This campaign is deeply personal. It’s about building a home — and reclaiming my family's history that was nearly totally erased by apartheid.

In 1967, my grandfather, Petros Sipho Sibusiso Mkhize, was imprisoned at Pretoria Central Prison (now Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Facility). He was Prisoner No. V963, and at only 29 years old, he was given a life sentence and executed by hanging by the apartheid government for fighting against the unjust laws. His death shattered our family. He left behind a young wife and children, with no home, no inheritance, and no grave we can visit.
