Campaign Overview:
In 2007, AfrikaBurn was created by a colourful cast of counter-culturalists. The event was designed to be a radical celebration of creative expression and community. They hoped to invent the world a-new using the Burn as a tool.
The event quickly became a hyper-demonstration of cultural questioning, creation and imagination.
This is a story of an evolution: of burns and movements. The story illustrates a larger narrative, and asks some deep questions around popular culture today.
