About This Campaign
Johannes Ikela was attacked by a lion outside Etosha National Park while performing his duties as an Assistant Ranger for the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism in Namibia. He suffered severe wounds on his arms and legs, requiring months of hospitalisation and rehabilitation. While still on the road to recovery, he is determined to learn more about lion behaviour and conservation. He wants to improve responses to lion incidents around Etosha National Park and increase local awareness for the value of lions. Johannes wants to further his education through an Advanced Certificate from the Southern African Wildlife College in 2027. The Namibian Chamber of Environment has committed R10,000 to Johannes' further education - will you join us?
