Help Me Reclaim My Life: My IIH Surgery Journey
I never imagined that my life would change because of something happening inside my own head.
I am a wife and a mother to a beautiful 7-year-old child. My family is my world, and one of the hardest parts of this journey has been trying to stay strong for the people I love while battling a condition that has taken so much from my everyday life.
I have been diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) — a condition where pressure builds up around the brain. Living with IIH has meant facing symptoms that are often invisible to others but very real to me: debilitating headaches, pressure, pain, pulsatile tinnitus, vision problems, exhaustion, uncertainty, and the constant worry about what the future holds.
There have been days where simply getting through the day has taken everything I have. Days where I have had to push through the pain, put on a brave face, and still be the mother and wife my family needs. IIH has affected not only me, but the way I experience life...
