#GamersAgainstGBV 2024

Gender-based violence (GBV) is a broad term for violence inflicted on a person because of gender associations, including that of unequal power relations. Victims are predominantly women and children, but men and members of the LGBTQ-plus community also make up the horrifying statistics. While this is a tragic international issue, it is also very close to home. This violence needs to be brought to an end.

Our people need to be protected. This Women's Month, Mettlestate (a gaming tournament organiser) and various gaming streamers run a donation campaign called #GamersAgainstGBV.

TEARS is our charity partner for #GABGV. TEARS provides crisis intervention, advocacy, counselling, and prevention education services for those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and child sexual abuse. Confidential services are provided to all victims at no charge!
