Help Shawqi and Mohamed's Family:

Mohammed and Shawqi Hatem are two young Palestinian brothers from Khan Younis, Gaza. They are trying to support their family through the dangerous conditions of the current occupation and genocide.

The Hatem Family’s journey since the 7th of October has been a harrowing one, as with every Palestinian who has been living under occupation for the past 75 years. The family had to evacuate their home in Khan Younis in less than 30 minutes, under threat of IOF quadcopters (drones). They have had to keep moving from one area to another within the Gaza Strip, in an attempt to keep everyone safe and out of harm’s way.

Mohammed is 18 years old and was just starting his 1st year of university (the very second week!), when the genocide in Gaza started. Mohammed is obsessed with fitness and decided to document his journey under the name “Gymrat in Gaza”. He hopes he will be able to continue his studies in Egypt when the academic year begins in September.
