She won the South African Open Chess Championship in July. Now, Rebecca is heading to Spain to represent our nation!

We have incredible news! Thanks to your incredible support in 2025 we “Got Rebecca to Greece” to participate in the Chess Cadet Tournament. Rebecca has continued to pour her heart, mind, and hours of training onto the chessboard.
Her hard work has officially paid off in the biggest way possible: Rebecca won the 2026 South African Open and has been selected to represent South Africa in Spain!
This historic victory officially crowns her as the #1 Seed and Official South African Representative for the FIDE World Chess Championship U7 - U17, taking place in Roquetas de Mar, Spain, from 13 to 21 October 2026.
