The Geraldine Educational Cause

I am Geraldine Nonhlanhla Ndhlovu a first year student at Stellenbosch University. Naturena, Gauteng

I am doing a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

I have completed my first semester successfully with a distinction in Mathematics and Chemistry. I also managed to complete a short course in Global Citizenship which was funded by the university.

Raising fees for my first year was not easy but my family managed to do so however they were left in serious financial strain which is threatening my future studies. Family members who contributed towards my first year's fees are unable to continue doing so as some suffered job loses and pay cuts due to the Covid 19 pandemic. 

In February 2023 I will be required to pay R124 000 excluding meals and textbooks. This is due to the fact that I am using a study visa and therefore classified as an International Student which means I can not apply for bursaries.
