Dear Friends,

Thank you to everyone who so generously supported our friend Gerd through his critical medical crisis this year – your generosity went a long way in paying for his out of hospital medical expenses, enabling him to keep his carer, DJ, without whom Gerd would not be able to survive on his own and to cover some of his living expenses whilst he is unable to work.

Gerd's condition has once again deteriorated, he has multiple bed sores that require constant cleaning and disinfecting to avoid sepsis setting in, which has happened again. Gerd has had treatment (at home) recently to remove dead skin around the sores. He has no means of income and has to pay for further treatment and the dressings/antibiotics himself.

Despite the insurmountable odds and having lost half his body weight (see updated pic), Gerd continues to fight this battle with a strong will to live and somehow manages to stay positive and optimistic, still maintaining his hum...
