Please help my son kidney transplant

Update 2026: Gerhard is still waiting for his lifesaving kidney transplant
It has been a long and difficult journey for Gerhard and our family. Since 2023, Gerhard has been on the kidney transplant waiting list, hoping and praying for the call that will change his life.
Gerhard has now spent over 3 years waiting for a kidney transplant while undergoing dialysis three times every week just to stay alive. Every week consists of hospital visits, treatments, medication and the constant uncertainty of not knowing when the call for a donor kidney will come.
While waiting for a suitable donor, Gerhard continues to fight every single day. Dialysis keeps him going, but it is physically and emotionally exhausting, and it is only a temporary solution while he waits for a transplant.
There is finally a small ray of hope. We currently have two possible donor candidates, but they still need to complete the necessary medical testing to determine whether they are suitable matches.
