Cassidy Burgess, 16year old swimmer from the Western Cape, works tirelessly, with grit and determination, to achieve her best at her chosen sport, as well as maintaining strong academics and participation in all school activities.
Cassidy has been swimming competitively since she was 7yrs old, in the last 2years she has been selected to represent Team South Africa in swimming, including teams for Commonwealth Youth Games and Junior World Championships. At the South African National Junior Championships earlier this year, whilst still 15years old, Cassidy was ranked in the Top 10 in South Africa for 50m, 100m and 200m Backstroke events.
Cassidy has recently been selected to represent Team South Africa, at the Salnikov Cup in St Petersburg, Russia, 19-24 December 2024. Unfortunately, as in the past this tour is self funded, estimated cost of R 49 000. Cassidy needs to raise funds to enable her to attend and compete.
