My name is Cohan-Josh Daniels, a 20-year-old footballer from Eastridge, Mitchells Plain, Cape Town.

Growing up in Mitchells Plain was never easy. Like many young people in my community, I was surrounded by gangsterism, drugs, violence, and poverty. These challenges have claimed countless dreams, but I was determined not to let them define my future.

Football became my escape, my purpose, and my pathway to something greater.

I started out playing barefoot on dusty fields and quickly developed a passion for the game. During my first half-season at Rock-A-Fellas FC, I scored 34 goals. The following season, I scored 42 goals and was recognized with several awards, including Top Goal Scorer, Player of the Season, and Most Influential Player.

My performances earned me a full scholarship to Ubuntu Football Academy, one of South Africa’s leading football development programmes.
