Gerhard Genade started his Field Target career in 2010 as hobby, but soon he realised that he was doing well enough to enter bigger competitions. He made the Protea Team for the first time in 2012. He made the National team 8 times since 2012.
Last year, 2023, he won the SA National Championships and later in 2023 at the World Championships, he won making him the 2023 World Champion!!!
In March 2024, he rained champion again, making him SA Champ at Nationals once again.
In November 2024 he will be defending his title at the World Championships in the USA.
