In 2025, the YMCA Cape Town opened its doors to a group of young leaders from the German YMCA (CVJM). For three weeks, these visitors didn't just observe, they became part of our family. They walked the streets of our local communities, shared in the workload and joys of our programs, and witnessed firsthand the resilience and potential of the youth we serve every day.
What started as an international visit quickly blossomed into a profound cross-cultural exchange of ideas, hope, and vision. As our German friends departed, they left us with more than just memories, they left us with an invitation to complete the circle.
The Opportunity: CVJM Oberbarmen
We have been invited to Wuppertal, Germany, to visit CVJM Oberbarmen. This is more than a trip, it is a "life-changing exchange." Our team will have the rare opportunity to immerse themselves in German youth development models, participate in their local community work, and bring back innovative strategies to strengthen our programs here in Cape Town.
