Getting Juan-Corné Brand to the World Junior Squash Championship in Houston Texas 2024

Juan-Corné Brand on his way to represent South Africa at World Squash!

Juan-Corné Brand has achieved the first major step of his lifelong squash dream when he was selected to represent South Africa at the World Junior Squash Championship in Houston, Texas, USA from 12 to 23 July 2024. 

At the age of 6, Juan-Corné fell in love with squash when he joined Centurion Junior Squash and from the age of 8 he had a VERY clear picture of what he wanted to achieve in squash. He started training with JP Brits, former SA number 1 squash player. 

In Juan-Corné’s own words:

“My dream is simple: Playing professional squash… My short-term squash goal is to represent South Africa at Junior Worlds in the USA this year. Then, in January 2025, I want to play in the British Junior Open in Birmingham, followed by the Commonwealth Games Squash Doubles in 2026. Eventually I want to represent my country in 2028 at the Olympic Games.”
