About This Campaign
My name is Gezelle Magerman, a 28-year-old 400m hurdler from the small town of Darling, South Africa. I’ve spent the past 20 years training and competing with one goal in mind: to represent my country on the world stage in track and field.
In 2014, I won gold at the Youth Olympic Games, a career-defining moment that ignited my desire to compete at the highest international level. Now, I’m aiming for a new milestone — to qualify for the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo this September.
To qualify, I need to run 54.65 seconds in the 400m hurdles. My current personal best is 55.90 — within reach, with the right conditions and competition. That’s why I’m heading to Europe’s elite athletics circuit, where I can chase this qualifying time at top-tier events.
I am pleased to share that I have received a generous donation, which has significantly contributed toward my fundraising efforts. I am deeply
