Gift of the Givers Breaks Through Into Breederivier Valley

The Western Cape is facing devastating floods right now. Entire communities have been cut off, families stranded, roads washed away, and thousands of people are cold, hungry, and in urgent need of help.

Since Sunday, Gift of the Givers teams have been working around the clock across the province — reaching vulnerable communities under extremely challenging conditions.

Today, with the support of Premier Alan Winde, local municipalities, disaster management teams, RTI, SAPS, and emergency partners, Gift of the Givers is breaking through into the Breede River Valley — an area completely cut off from assistance for days.

Specially coordinated convoys, traffic escorts, and helicopters are being used to reach stranded families, commuters, truck drivers, and isolated communities with hot meals, essential supplies, and emergency relief.
